Purported List of Hall Inductees Appears in British Publication

Country Music People, a British country music magazine, has published a list it says are the names of new inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame. A spokeswoman for the Country Music Association, which oversees election to the Hall of Fame, says the list is "speculative, and it is not CMA policy to comment on speculation."

Ten new members of the Country Music Hall of Fame were to be named prior to the opening of the new Hall of Fame in mid May, with formal induction to take place as part of grand opening ceremonies, the CMA announced on Dec. 14.

Country Music International, another British publication, ran the list first.

Names appearing on the list include: the Delmore Brothers, the Everly Brothers, Don Gibson, Homer & Jethro, Waylon Jennings, the Jordanaires, Don Law, the Louvin Brothers, Ken Nelson and Webb Pierce.

"The official list of names of those to be inducted into the Hall of Fame has not been released yet," the CMA spokeswoman says. "Plans are to release the list in August."
