Skynyrd to Continue Touring

Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume touring in the wake of bassist Leon Wilkeson’s death on Friday (July 27). After postponing a handful of West Coast dates, the band will perform Aug. 11 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and play more than 20 U.S. shows through mid-September. Wilkeson’s temporary replacement is Ean Evans, who has filled in for Wilkeson on several dates in the past year. A public memorial service for Wilkeson was set for Wednesday morning (Aug. 1) at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla. 08/01/01
