Remnants From Cline Plane Crash to Be Auctioned

Crumpled pieces of metal, purported to be from the plane Patsy Cline died in, will be sold in an online auction beginning Aug. 31. Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas and pilot Randy Hughes died in an airplane crash near Camden, Tenn., in 1963. Brothers Scott and Eric Mills, of Jackson, Tenn., say they have bits of the belly and tail section acquired from M.C. Hollingsworth, one of the first to arrive at the crash site. The Mills brothers have set the opening bid at $100,000 in an eBay auction. The Country Music Hall of Fame already owns several pieces of the plane including the flight clock from the instrument panel. 08/16/01
