CMT Exec Paul Hastaba Exits

Paul Hastaba, senior vice president and general manager of CMT, has resigned from his post. Hastaba joined CMT in 1995 after holding executive positions at KHTV in Houston and KTVT in Dallas. During his tenure, CMT was sold by Gaylord to CBS, and last year CMT was part of the CBS merger with Viacom. “Paul has made numerous contributions to CMT,” VH1 chief John Sykes said in an internal memo. “He has been instrumental in elevating CMT’s prominence within the country music industry.” Sykes is scheduled to be in Nashville Tuesday (Aug. 21) to talk with the CMT staff about future plans. 08/20/01
