CMT's Opry Debut Sets Record

The Grand Ole Opry's live debut on CMT Saturday (Aug. 18) scored a 1.31 Nielsen rating, the highest rating in CMT history. The premiere episode and two repeats of Grand Ole Opry Live were viewed by 2.2 million people over the weekend. The televised portion of the Opry previously was carried on CMT's sister station TNN. 08/24/01
