Grand Ole Opry members and country stars filmed Opry Family Reunion this week in Nashville. Gabriel Communications, co-producers of the program with the Opry, will pitch it to cable networks as a TV special. Bill Anderson played host and moderator as artists seated in the round swapped stories and songs. Among the participants: Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, Diamond Rio, Darryl Worley, Little Jimmy Dickens, Tammy Cochran, Larry Gatlin, Jean Shepard, Blake Shelton, Chalee Tennison and The Whites. Archival Opry footage also will be part of the finished program. Segments were taped Monday (Aug. 27) at the Ryman Auditorium and Thursday (Aug. 30) at the Grand Ole Opry House. In addition to the projected TV special, Opry Family Reunion will be released as an eight-volume video set, priced at $199.60, on Oct. 10, during the Opry’s anniversary week.
