Reba McEntire is back at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with her 27th CD release. Her Greatest Hits Volume III: I’m a Survivor debuts at No. 1, her first No. 1 debut since 1995’s Starting Over. It also lands at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 chart, reflecting all music genres.
McEntire topples O Brother, Where Art Thou? from its spot atop the album chart, where it has registered for 23 non-consecutive weeks, and it drops to the No. 2 slot. Toby Keith ‘s Pull My Chain is No. 3, Martina McBride ‘s Greatest Hits is No. 4 and Tim McGraw ‘s Set This Circus Down is at No. 5.
Tracy Lawrence ‘s self-titled album debuts at No. 13, and Lyle Lovett ‘s Anthology Volume One: Cowboy Man starts at No. 27. Debuting at No. 43 is The Complete Limelight Sessions, a collection of early Shania Twain rock demos from the late 1980s when she was known as “Eilleen Shania Twain.” Other debuts are Country Christmas 2001 by various artists, at No. 62, and comedian Tim Wilson ‘s I Should’ve Married My Father-In-Law at No. 69.
McGraw takes over the top spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart with his recording of Bruce Robison ‘s “Angry All the Time.” Brooks & Dunn ‘s “Only in America” stays at No. 2 and Alan Jackson ‘s “Where I Come From” falls from No. 1 to No. 3. Trick Pony ‘s “On a Night Like This” stays at No. 4, and Travis Tritt ‘s “Love of a Woman” holds at No. 5.
David Ball ‘s “Riding With Private Malone” enters the Top 10 at No. 8 and Garth Brooks ‘ fast-rising “Wrapped Up in You” climbs to No. 12 in its third charting week. New on the chart this week are Cyndi Thomson ‘s “I Always Liked That Best” at No. 48, “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s a Flag” by the Charlie Daniels Band at No. 51, Hank Williams Jr. ‘s “America Will Survive” at No. 55, Emerson Drive’s “I Should Be Sleeping” at No. 57 and Lee Ann Womack ‘s “Does My Ring Burn Your Finger” at No. 58.
The Williams song is not available in CD form and is being played on radio as a download from the Oct. 21 CMT telecast of the Country Freedom Concert. He has recorded the song to be included as a bonus track on his next album, The Almeria Club & Other Select Venues, due in January.
