Presley Will Join Gospel Hall

Elvis Presley makes it a historic triple crown when he joins the Gospel Music Association’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame Tuesday night (Nov. 27) during an induction ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Franklin, Tenn. Presley will be the first artist ever to become a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Gospel Hall members The Jordanaires, The Imperials, The Speers and The Stamps all sang with Presley, and Presley’s three Grammy wins were for sacred performances. The Oak Ridge Boys will host the induction ceremony. Also joining the Gospel Hall: Doris Akers, Widy Bawell & The Sunliters, Keith Green, Kurt Kaiser, Larry Norman, The Rambos and Albertina Walker. 11/26/01
