Warner Will Buy Word Entertainment

Gaylord Entertainment has agreed to sell its Word Entertainment division to Warner Music Group for $84.1 million in cash. Word-owned Myrrh Records releases Amy Grant’s recordings in the Christian marketplace, and Rachael Lampa, touring with Grant and husband Vince Gill on their upcoming Christmas show, records for Word Records. The sale is expected to be completed no later than the first quarter of 2002. Word will continue to be based in Nashville, Tenn. Gaylord Entertainment owns WSM-AM (650), the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium and the Wildhorse Saloon. 11/26/01
