Charlie Daniels underwent successful surgery for prostate cancer Nov. 20 at a Nashville hospital. Dr. Joseph Smith, who performed the surgery, reported that the cancer was contained within the prostate and has been completely removed. “We expect that his cancer is cured,” Smith said. “I thank Almighty God for the healings,” Daniels says in a news release. The country-rock legend will resume touring after the first of the year. His first scheduled date, according to Pollstar, is in March. 11/29/01
