Rimes Inks With Curb Again

LeAnn Rimes has withdrawn her lawsuit against Curb Records and signed a new contract with the company, Billboard reports. “We’re thrilled that we’ve come to a new agreement with LeAnn and anxious to start a brand-new chapter in our relationship,” chairman Mike Curb is quoted as saying. Rimes has been working with pop producer, songwriter and artist Desmond Child on a project Curb hopes to release next year. On her Web site, Rimes disavowed I Need You, the album Curb cobbled together from earlier recordings for release last January. The Coyote Ugly soundtrack, with four tracks by Rimes, has been certified double platinum (shipments of 2 million copies) and has spent 69 weeks on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Rimes has not settled a lawsuit against her father, Wilbur Rimes, who is also her former producer and co-manager. 11/30/01
