Coal Miner’s Daughter Will Carry Olympic Torch

Loretta Lynn will carry the Olympic torch Sunday (Dec. 16) in Louisville. The Kentucky native will take her turn at 6:05 p.m. ET, receiving it at Maylawn Ave. and carrying it down Crittenden Drive approximately ¼ mile. The torch is on its way to Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics. “I’m so excited,” Lynn says in a news release. “This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever been asked to do!” Lynn has finished her second autobiography, Still Woman Enough, tentatively scheduled for release in the spring. 12/10/01
