Monroe Artifacts Donated and Up for Sale

More than 600 Bill Monroe artifacts will be up for grabs at an estate sale and auction Dec. 21 and 22 at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. James Monroe, son of the late Country Music Hall of Fame member, is the executor of the estate. Some proceeds from the sale and auction will benefit the non-profit Hall of Fame. Monroe also donated some of his father’s items to the museum including stage wear, a family Bible, photos and a detailed travel log. Items that will be for sale include mandolins, stage costumes, furniture, jewelry, awards, signed items and household goods from his Kentucky cabin and farm. More. 12/11/01
