Jackson and Strait Are ‘Designated Drinkers’

The Alan Jackson/George Strait duet on Jackson’s upcoming album is “Designated Drinker,” a mid-tempo tune written by Jackson. “Tonight, I’m the designated drinker/I just lost the one that wrapped me around her finger,” goes the chorus. Drive is due Jan. 15. Nine of 12 cuts were written or co-written by Jackson. “That’d Be Alright,” an upbeat tune with a Cajun feel, comes from Mark D. Sanders, Tim Nichols and Tia Sillers. Sanders and Sillers are the co-writers of “I Hope You Dance.” 12/17/01
