Wynonna to Perform at Hometown Event, Super Bowl Festivities

Wynonna Judd will give a hometown concert Saturday (Jan. 19) in Ashland, Ky., to reopen the Paramount Arts Center after an $8 million renovation, The Associated Press reports. The benefit concert will be Judd’s first in Ashland in several years. Julie Reeves, an Ashland native who reached country’s Top 40 a couple of years ago with “What I Need” and “Trouble Is a Woman,” will open the show. Kentucky Gov. Paul Patton and other dignitaries are scheduled to attend. Proceeds will go toward operating costs, an endowment and a charity of Judd’s choice. Judd performs Feb. 3 during festivities surrounding Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans. She will be part of a pre-game patriotic tribute, “Let Freedom Ring,” also featuring Barry Manilow, Yolanda Adams, James Ingram and Patti LaBelle. 01/16/02
