Alabama Sues Canadian Promoters

Country group Alabama have filed suit in federal court against two Canadian promoters, alleging that they were underpaid for Alabama’s fall tour of Canada, The Tennessean reports. The band claims Next Presentations Canada Ltd., from Ontario, and Paul Mercs Concerts, from Vancouver, still owe $765,977. Morris Leasing, a sound and equipment company, joins the suit, asking for $190,000. Both parties also are asking for at least $1.25 million in punitive damages. 01/24/02
