Jackson Blisters at CBGB

Alan Jackson was a hit at New York’s packed, overheated CBGB punk club Wednesday (Feb. 6). The New York Post reports that Jackson jokingly pleaded with the owner, Hilly Krystal, to turn on the AC in return for the $200 fee he was to pay the singer. Jackson played more than 90 minutes, and New York police and firefighters attended. All were affected by “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).” Jackson ended with “Mercury Blues.” 02/08/02
