Country Guys Salute ZZ Top on Upcoming Tribute Album

Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakam and a dozen other male country acts will give all their loving to Texas rockers ZZ Top on an upcoming album, Sharp Dressed Men: A Tribute to ZZ Top. Willie Nelson sings "She Loves My Automobile," Brad Paisley does "Sharp Dressed Man" and Lonestar draws "Gimme All Your Lovin'." RCA Label Group (RLG) will release the tribute project May 7. Also participating: Hank Williams Jr., Hank Williams III, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd, Kenny Chesney, Andy Griggs, Phil Vassar, The Warren Brothers and Montgomery Gentry. ZZ Top is in Nashville this week for Country Radio Seminar and a TV taping for CMT Crossroads. On Thursday (Feb. 28), ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard backed several country acts at RLG's annual General Jackson river boat concert. The Texas rock trio also is expected to be at a private Brooks & Dunn tour kick-off party taking place at Ronnie Dunn's home Friday night (March 1). ZZ Top and Brooks & Dunn will pair up Sunday (March 3) for CMT Crossroads, a monthly series that explores the intersection of country and other musical genres through live performances and interviews.
