Trick Pony recorded last week with Willie Nelson. The trio cut Nelson’s traditional concert opener, “Whiskey River,” for their next album. “The cool thing about Willie is, he’s still cutting great records, still sounding just like Willie,” says Trick Pony’s Keith Burns. “Time has stood still for Willie Nelson. He’s just one of those special guys.” On their debut album, Trick Pony enlisted Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings on their recording of Cash’s “Big River.” 03/05/02
