New Memorial Will Replace Museum Walkway

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will replace the old Walkway of Stars, formerly housed in the lobby of the old building on Music Row, with a new memorial. The old terrazzo-and-bronze squares could not be moved intact to the new building. They were “completely destroyed in order to protect the integrity of the new memorial,” says museum director Kyle Young. The hall of fame will announce plans for a new memorial at a later date. “The new memorial,” Young promises, “will be bigger, better and more meaningful than ever.” More. 03/26/02
