Singletary Sings With Guests on New Set

Daryle Singletary’s new CD, That’s Why I Sing This Way (Audium), is a nod to his “influences and inspirations.” Due May 7, the disc includes guest appearances by Dwight Yoakam (on Buck Owens’ “Love’s Gonna Live Here”); George Jones (“Walk Through This World With Me”); Merle Haggard (“Make-Up and Faded Blue Jeans”); Rhonda Vincent (“After the Fire Is Gone”); and Johnny Paycheck (“Old Violin”). Also on the set: “I Never Go Around Mirrors,” “Long Black Veil,” “A-11,” “Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Loud, Loud Music,” “Kay” and “I’d Love to Lay You Down.” “This is the stuff that we all need to make sure doesn’t get forgotten,” Singletary says. 04/08/02
