Dixie Chicks Continue Chart Ascent

The Dixie Chicks continue their chart progress with their new single "Long Time Gone." In its second week of release, it jumps to No. 26 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

Alan Jackson repeats for the fourth straight week atop the singles chart with "Drive (For Daddy Gene)." George Strait's "Living and Living Well" remains No. 2, Brad Paisley's "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)" climbs to No. 3 from No. 4, Steve Azar's "I Don't Have to Be Me ('Til Monday)" drops a rung to No. 4 and Emerson Drive's "I Should Be Sleeping" holds at No. 5.

Rounding out the Top 10 are Lonestar's "Not a Day Goes By," Carolyn Dawn Johnson's "I Don't Want You to Go," Toby Keith's "My List," Gary Allan's "The One" and Tommy Shane Steiner's "What If She's an Angel."

Two singles earn Billboard's Airpower nod. Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" moves to No. 17, despite –- or perhaps because of -- a movement by some radio stations to censor the word "ass" from the song. Trace Adkins' "Help Me Understand" gets an Airpower nod in its second straight week at No. 18.

Singles debuting this week are Kevin Denney's "Cadillac Tears" at No. 52, J. Michael Harter's "Hard Call to Make" at No. 55 and Daryle Singletary's "That's Why I Sing This Way" at No. 58.

On the Top Country Albums chart, Chesney's No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems holds on to its No. 1 spot for the sixth straight week, and the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack remains at No. 2. Jackson's Drive stays at No. 3. Paisley's Part II holds at No. 4 and Martina McBride's Greatest Hits moves up a rung to No. 5.

Filling out the Top 10 are Brooks & Dunn's Steers & Stripes, Keith's Pull My Chain, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw's Greatest Hits and Set This Circus Down>.

The late Waylon Jennings' RCA Country Legends album gets Billboard's Greatest Gainer nod. The album climbs to No. 35, from No. 55, in its 15th week of charting. There are no album debuts this week.
