Thomson Hits Gold Standard

Ten months after its release, Cyndi Thomson’s debut album, My World, has been certified gold, for shipments of 500,000 copies. Thomson declares herself excited and flattered to know that so many people went out and bought the album. “What I Really Meant to Say,” the first single and video, went to No. 1 on the country charts, and Thomson landed slots opening for Trisha Yearwood and Alan Jackson. She co-wrote eight of the 11 songs on My World and is nominated for two Flameworthy Video Music Awards, breakthrough video and hottest video of the year. 06/07/02
