Chicks Video Will Bow on CMT

The world will see the new Dixie Chicks video, “Long Time Gone,” for the very first time Wednesday night (June 12), immediately following the fan-voted CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards.

The trio — Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire — will introduce the video live from the plaza of the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville during the CMT Wrap Party (11-11:30 p.m. ET) on CMT.

Filmed on location in Reynosa, Mexico, a border town across the Rio Grande River from McAllen, Texas, the clip for the Chicks’ new single was directed by Marcus Rayboy whose credits include Carlos Santana’s “Smooth,” featuring matchbox twenty’s Rob Thomas.

The new video does not include appearances by other celebrities, and the single will be included on Home, the new Chicks album projected for release Aug. 27.

The Chicks will receive the first CMT Video Visionary Award during the CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards show, 9-11 p.m. ET on CMT. Actress Kathy Najimy is host, and the show will feature performances by Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Sara Evans, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Earl Scruggs, keith urban and Travis Tritt.

CMT personalities Lance Smith, Katie Cook and Greg Martin will be with the Chicks as hosts of CMT Wrap Party.
