Andy Griggs Wins Own Tournament
Andy Griggs hosted and won the first annual Fan Fair Celebrity Archery Shoot-Out Friday (June 14). Approached by the Country Music Association (CMA) to host a golf tournament during Fan Fair, Griggs countered with the idea of an archery event.
A crowd of approximately 1,000 fans gathered to watch 10 musicians take 10 shots apiece. Shooters rotated from one spot and target to another. After the start command, artists had one minute to complete a shot. A perfect shot scored 12 points, for a possible total of 120 points. Griggs' 106 edged Tracy Byrd's 94 points.
Comedian Shane Caldwell and TV host Dave Watson shared hosting duties. Other shooting stars included Gary LeVox, Kris Marcy, Brad Paisley, Joshua Ragsdale, Blake Shelton, Rusty Tabor, Neil Thrasher and Darryl Worley.
Since host Griggs was the shoot-out winner, net proceeds will go to the charity of his choice.
