The Dixie Chicks to Appear on CMT’s Grand Ole Opry Live Aug. 10

CMT’S Grand Ole Opry Live will feature a live performance by country music’s hottest trio, the Dixie Chicks , on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with encore presentations at 11 p.m. ET/PT and Sunday, August 11 at 11 a.m. ET/PT.

Hosted by Katie Cook, CMT’s live weekly concert series will feature the Dixie Chicks’ first Opry performance since 1998. They will perform “Long Time Gone,” their current hit song and video from their forthcoming album, Home, due in stores Aug. 27.

Since country music’s coolest trio burst onto the scene in 1998, they have sold over 21 million copies of their debut, Wide Open Spaces, and their follow-up, Fly, earning them back-to-back Diamond Certifications (10 million albums sold) — a feat never before achieved by a country band. In addition to winning over millions of fans and earning widespread critical acclaim, the Dixie Chicks have also picked up armloads of awards along the way including five Grammys, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, nine County Music Association Awards and 11 Billboard Awards. The Dixie Chicks received the first-ever CMT Flameworthy Video Visionary Award at the 2002 CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards.
