Rimes Album Coming Oct. 1

LeAnn Rimes, who turns 20 on Aug. 28, will release a new album, Twisted Angel, Oct. 1 on Curb Records. Rimes is executive producer of the 13-song collection, said in a news release to be heavily influenced by rock, pop and urban music “with just the occasional hint of country.” The album’s first single, “Life Goes On,” written by Rimes with Desmond Child and Andres Carlsson, will be shipped to radio on Aug. 5. Rimes will film a video in New Orleans with Matthew Rolston (Jewel, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez) directing. Twisted Angel finds the former child country star all grown up. The news release teases that one track, “Tic Toc,” “takes listeners on a sensual journey through the desires of a woman in control of her sexuality who knows exactly what she wants.” “I listen to everything,” Rimes says, “rap, rock, country, old R&B, jazz. It’s all come together on this record for me. It reflects where I am right now and where I’ve been.” 07/25/02
