Down From the Mountain Tour Wraps Up

The second leg of the Down From the Mountain tour ended Thursday (Aug. 22) night before a capacity crowd at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. “It’s good to be home,” said Sharon White of the Whites, echoing the sentiments of many of the tour artists. Performers at the final show also included Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, the Nashville Bluegrass Band, the Fairfield Four, the Peasall Sisters, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Emmylou Harris, Chris Thomas King, David Rawlings, Gillian Welch, Norman and Nancy Blake, the Del McCoury Band and Ralph Stanley. Rodney Crowell served as emcee. Down From the Mountain originated almost two years ago with a Ryman concert by many of the artists from the soundtrack O Brother, Where Art Thou? 08/23/02
