After weeks of speculation, CMT has released an alphabetical list of the most influential women in the history of country music. The list ranges from Maybelle Carter and Patsy Montana to Shania Twain and Trisha Yearwood, but the actual rankings will be revealed when CMT 40 Greatest Women of Country Music premieres Friday (Aug. 30) at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The three-hour special includes interviews from the male viewpoint with comments from Vince Gill, Don Henley, Chris Isaak, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt and Randy Travis. In alphabetical order, the list includes: Lynn Anderson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Maybelle Carter, June Carter Cash, Rosanne Cash, Patsy Cline, the Dixie Chicks, Dale Evans, Crystal Gayle, Emmylou Harris, Faith Hill, Wanda Jackson, the Judds, Alison Krauss, k.d. lang, Brenda Lee, Patty Loveless, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Patsy Montana, Lorrie Morgan, Anne Murray, K.T. Oslin, Dolly Parton, Minnie Pearl, LeAnn Rimes, Linda Ronstadt, Connie Smith, Pam Tillis, Tanya Tucker, Shania Twain, Cindy Walker, Kitty Wells, Dottie West, Lucinda Williams, Lee Ann Womack, Tammy Wynette and Trisha Yearwood.
