Nelson Recuperating

Willie Nelson cancelled a series of weekend appearances after being hospitalized in Lincoln, Neb., for what a spokesman described as a “head and neck problem.” In addition to Thursday’s (9/5) concert in Lincoln, other cancellations included a Friday (9/6) night concert with Wynonna at the Mid-America Music Park in Neosho, Mo. Concert promoter Allan Chenoweth told the Neosho Daily News that Nelson had been hospitalized for a “nosebleed that they couldn’t get under control.” A spokesman at Nelson’s record label told the Country Music Hall of Fame member has been released from the hospital and that his illness is not believed to be serious. The weekend concert cancellations included stops at Bonner Springs, Kan., and Geneva, Minn. 09/06/02
