Faith Hill's taping at the El Rey Theater for an upcoming TV special was interrupted Sunday (Sept. 15) when the fire marshal announced the building's structure was compromised. Hill had completed two songs before an audience of 600 -- including husband Tim McGraw -- when the announcement was made. The building was evacuated, but taping resumed Tuesday night (Sept. 17) at the Palace Theatre. Built in 1936 and a registered historical landmark, the El Rey was a first-run movie house for more than 50 years. It was converted into a live music venue in 1994. 09/19/02
