Pinmonkey Contributes to Waylon Tribute

The band Pinmonkey ("Barbed Wire and Roses") recorded "Are You Ready for the Country" for an upcoming Waylon Jennings tribute album on Monday (Oct. 7). Neil Young wrote the song for his 1972 album, Harvest, and Jennings later recorded it as the title track of a 1976 album. Describing their own take on the song, the band's Dobro player Chad Jeffers tells CMT.com, "Neil Young's was really laid back, and Waylon's was a little more upbeat. We're somewhere in the middle there." Pinmonkey's self-titled BNA Records debut album will be released Tuesday (Oct. 8). 10/07/02
