Faith Hill’s Cry Tops Billboard 200

Cry, the new album from Faith Hill, tops the Billboard 200, a chart that tracks sales of all genres of music. The album sold 472,000 copies in its first week. “Cry’s debut is especially gratifying because it is the most direct validation of an artist’s work by his or her fans,” said Hill. “The loyalty they have shown me, from day one, is something that I will never take for granted.” In August, the Dixie Chicks’ Home debuted at No. 1 with first-week sales of 779,000 copies. 10/23/02
