Emmylou Harris Added to Alabama Hall of Fame

Emmylou Harris will be inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame during a Jan. 25 ceremony in Mobile. Harris, who was born in Birmingham, will be inducted alongside singer-songwriter Mack Vickery, whose compositions have been recorded by Waylon Jennings, Faron Young, Tanya Tucker and others. Vickery’s songwriting credits include Jerry Lee Lewis’ 1979 hit, “Rockin’ My Life Away.” Other new inductees will include R&B vocalists Clarence Carter and Eddie Floyd, and jazz orchestra leader, the late James Reese Europe. 10/23/02
