Vince Gill Performs at Hollywood/Broadway Benefit

Vince Gill is the only country artist in a lineup of Hollywood and Broadway personalities performing at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria on Nov. 12 to raise funds for the Jay Monahan Center for Gastronintestinal Health. Monahan, who died from colon cancer, was the husband of NBC-TV’s Katie Couric, who is organizing the event with the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Called “42nd & Vine … Hollywood Hits Broadway,” the fundraiser will feature the guests artists performing songs from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. Gill and wife Amy Grant will perform “One Hand, One Heart.” Others confirmed to appear include Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Kelsey Grammer, Meryl Streep, Beyonce Knowles, Kevin Kline, Bette Midler, Josh Groban, Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, Tony Danza and several cast members from the TV series, The Sopranos. 10/24/02
