Hank Jr. Added to Christian Awards Show

Hank Williams Jr. will perform on the eighth annual Christian Country Music Association awards show set for Tuesday (Nov. 5) at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. Williams will be backed by a choir on his original song, “Cross on the Highway,” from his latest album, Almeria Club. Williams was inspired to write the song after two of his friends — Mike Tellis and Kansas City Chief’s linebacker Derrick Thomas — died from injuries in an automobile accident in 2000. The Christian Country Music Awards show, hosted by Collin Raye and 700 Club host Lisa Ryan, is not to be confused with the Country Music Association awards taking place Wednesday (Nov. 6) at the Grand Ole Opry House. 10/31/02
