ACM’s Fran Boyd Retires

Fran Boyd has retired from her position as the executive director of the Academy of Country Music (ACM), it was announced Monday (Nov. 11). Starting as an executive secretary at the ACM offices in 1968, Boyd assumed the position of executive director in 1995. “I continue to be proud of all the Academy of Country Music has accomplished in my time,” Boyd said. “It has given me great joy to see so many young country artists rise from newcomers to having great careers. The Academy has helped music fans acknowledge country music as the enduring genre it deserves to be.” 11/11/02
