The Dixie Chicks ’ Emily Robison gave birth to a baby boy Monday night (Nov. 11) in San Antonio. Charles Augustus Robison arrived at 10 p.m., weighing 8 pounds and 13 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. Robison is married to country singer Charlie Robison . This is the first child for the couple. The family is resting at home in San Antonio, Texas, according to a press release.
The child’s middle name was inspired by Robert Duvall’s character ‘Gus’ in Larry McMurtry’s Lonesome Dove series of novels. “We’re so happy to have a healthy baby boy and feel very blessed,” Charlie Robison said. “I’ll probably hold off at least a couple of days before teaching him how to ride a horse.”
