Gill to Receive PGA’s Highest Award

Vince Gill has been named recipient of the Professional Golfers’ Association’s 2003 Distinguished Service Award. Established in1988 as the PGA of America’s highest honor, the award recognizes outstanding Americans who display leadership and humanitarian qualities, including integrity, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the game of golf. Previous recipients include Bob Hope, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and former presidents Gerald Ford and George Bush. Gill will be presented the award during an Aug. 13 ceremony in Rochester, N.Y. The event takes place in conjunction with the 85th PGA Championship. 04/22/03
