Tony Brown’s Condition Improves

The wife of record producer and label executive Tony Brown says his condition continues to improve following an April 11 accident in Los Angeles. Brown remained in critical condition Friday (April 25) at the UCLA Medical Center, where he’s being treated for a head injury he sustained when he fell on the stairs while leaving a Los Angeles restaurant. In a written statement, his wife, Anastasia, said, “Tony is getting better every day. A few days ago we began playing music for him and perhaps it is no surprise that he opened his eyes a few hours later. It is my belief that prayers and music have played a big part in his recent progress.” She added, “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and want everyone to know how much it has meant to me, Tony and his family. We truly feel the love and prayers that Nashville has been sending and I want everyone to know how important and inspirational it has been. It has really made a difference." A senior partner at the Universal South label, Brown previously served as president of MCA Nashville. As a record producer, Brown has worked with Reba McEntire, George Strait, Vince Gill and many others. 04/25/03
