Evans Appears at Film Premiere

Less than a week after undergoing vocal cord surgery, Sara Evans appeared Wednesday night (April 30) following the regional premiere of the new film, The Dance, at the Nashville Film Festival. Evans performs on the soundtrack that also features Trace Adkins, Jack Ingram, Brett James, Phil Keaggy and others. Produced by Eric A. Geadelmann, the film chronicles the life of Billy Roth, a champion prizefighter during the 1960s. Roth spent more than 44 years as a volunteer in Louisiana prisons where he taught inmates. Originally scheduled to perform at Wednesday’s charity event, Evans attended to show her support and admiration for Roth. Evans visited Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville last Friday (April 25) to have a small blister removed from her vocal cord. She remains on vocal rest but plans to be in Las Vegas on May 20 to host the Sizzlin’ Country fundraiser for cystic fibrosis research. 05/01/03
