CMT Sponsors Dixie Chicks Tour

CMT has signed on as media sponsor of the Dixie Chicks’ Top of the World tour that will hit 51 cities in the U.S. The Chicks recorded the biggest one-day sale in music history when tickets for the Top of the World tour went on sale on March 1. More than 867,000 tickets were sold that day, with 51 of the 59 U.S. concerts becoming immediate sellouts. In 1990, CMT sponsored the trio’s Fly tour that grossed $47 million. The CMT Most Wanted tour promotional trucks will be at select venues during the Top of the World tour to provide free entertainment, including games and a chance to win CMT prizes. The Dixie Chicks tour includes four shows this week, including a Monday (May 5) stop in Tampa, Fla., and a Wednesday (May 7) concert in Knoxville, Tenn. 05/05/03
