Neal McCoy to White House

Country singer Neal McCoy and his wife, Melinda, were invited by President and Laura Bush to a White House State Dinner for Philippine's President Gloria Arroyo on Monday (May 19). McCoy sat with President Bush, President Arroyo, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, archbishop, Archdiocese of Washington. Melinda McCoy was seated with Lynne Cheney, Sen. Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) and syndicated columnist, George F. Will. After dinner (Maryland crabs, scallops and lamb chops), a string quartet began playing standards during coffee and dessert. When O'Connor asked McCoy to sing along, he obliged by singing "Unforgettable." 05/20/03
