Chicks Cancel Cleveland Show

The Dixie Chicks will perform Monday (June 2) in Detroit after lead singer Natalie Maines’ sore throat forced the cancellation of the trio’s Sunday night show in Cleveland. Emily Robison told the Associated Press, “Natalie is not feeling very well. Her throat has some damage to it. She’s sick right now and the doctor said, ‘If you sing tonight, you’re just going to make it worse.’” Robison added that it’s the first show they’ve had to cancel. JoAnn Burnside, a spokeswoman for the Chicks’ management company, said Monday the band’s road manager indicated that Maines is feeling better. The Cleveland show was rescheduled for June 11. 06/2/03
