Cash, Jackson Receive More Platinum

The Man in Black’s performances before two captive audiences in the late ‘60s have netted him additional multi-platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. Certified triple platinum for sales of 3 million copies each are 1968’s Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison and 1969’s Johnny Cash at San Quentin. Also receiving additional multi-platinum status this month is Alan Jackson’s Drive for shipments of 4 million copies. In the latest RIAA certifications, Cash also racked up two additional platinum albums for Super Hits and His Greatest Hits, Volume 2. Shipments of 500,000 copies each resulted in gold certification for Joe Nichols’ debut album, Man With a Memory, and Lisa Marie Presley’s debut project, To Whom It May Concern. Also going gold is Darryl Worley with his latest, Have You Forgotten? A gold single went to Kid Rock for his version of “Picture” with Allison Moorer. 06/04/03
