CMT is making plans to travel across the continent with alternative country rocker Steve Earle as sponsor of his “Transcendental Blues” Tour. The tour launched on Thursday, Jan. 18 in Chattanooga, Tenn., and will visit 14 cities in the United States and Canada throughout the months of January, February and March. Earle’s opening act on the tour will be his sister, multi-talented singer-songwriter Stacey Earle, in support of her second release on Gearle Records, Dancin’ With Them That Brung Me.
As an added bonus for Steve Earle fans, CMT will telecast Steve Earle and the Dukes Transcendental Blues Live on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 11:30 p.m. ET. Repeats of the one-hour special will air Feb. 10 at 11 p.m. ET and Feb. 26 at 10:30 p.m. ET. The special features all new music from one of the most unique artists of today, as Earle continues to redefine his musical influence with blends of folk, rock, country and bluegrass.

His early musical experiences included stints with legendary singer-songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark.
Earle’s music videos include “Back to the Wall,” “Copperhead Road,” “Guitar Town,” “I Ain’t Ever Satisfied,” “I Feel Alright,” “Nowhere Road,” “The Other Kind,” “Six Days on the Road,” “Someday” and “Transcendental Blues.”
