Lonestar Top Fan Fair CD Sales

With its Greatest Hits album released just last week, Lonestar emerged as the top-selling act during Fan Fair, according to Tower Records, the chain store handling retail sales for the event. In descending order, the other acts hitting the Top 10 sales list were Montgomery Gentry, Cledus T. Judd, Joe Nichols, Darryl Worley, Jo Dee Messina, Chris Cagle, Keith Urban, Terri Clark and Mark Wills. The Country Music Association, which sponsored the event in downtown Nashville, said it counted 124,300 fan visits throughout the four days ending Sunday (June 8). That translates to daily attendance of more than 31,000 -- a 1.7 percent decline from Fan Fair 2002. Next year, organizers will refer to the music element of the summer event as the CMA Music Festival, a concert series mixing country and non-country acts. The daily rounds of autograph sessions in the exhibit halls will be billed as Fan Fair. The CMA Music Festival takes place June 10-13, 2004. 06/09/03
