BR5-49 to Serve as House Band for First Annual Nashville Skyline Jamboree

The Country Music Hall of Fame will celebrate its final summer on Music Row with the first annual Nashville Skyline Jamboree on June 15 during International Country Music Fan Fair week.

Music and dancing will be staged on the Country Music Hall of Fame’s main parking lot, located at the corner of Division Street and Music Square East.

The Nashville Skyline Jamboree will be designed to resemble the carnival midway of an old-time country fair. Retro hillbilly boogie outfit BR5-49, known for its encyclopedic knowledge of country music, will serve as the jamboree house band for guest appearances by Raul Malo (of the Mavericks), Dean Miller (son of Roger Miller), Alan and David Frizzell (brothers of Lefty Frizzell) and Deana Carter.

Ralph Emery — recently named Radio & Records’ Country Radio Air Personality of the Century — will emcee the festivities between live sets, introducing classic country recordings hand-picked especially for dancing by the Hall of Fame’s expert staff. Entertainment takes place from 6 – 11 p.m. The Nashville Skyline Jamboree will be broadcast live by WSM-AM (650), radio home of the Grand Ole Opry.

Members of the Hall of Fame, including Brenda Lee and Kitty Wells, will be signing autographs throughout the event. The live broadcast of the Country Weekly Presents the TNN Music Awards emanating from the Gaylord Entertainment Center will be available on monitors. Country music impersonators will be on hand for staged photos with fans.

The Jamboree is free to those registered for Fan Fair. For others, admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free to kids under 6. Admission includes entrance into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Jamboree comes one year after the Hall of Fame held a star-studded groundbreaking ceremony for its new $37 million museum in downtown Nashville during Fan Fair. The new 136,000 square-foot, four-story Hall of Fame is scheduled to open next spring at Fifth Avenue South and Demonbreun Street.
