CMT hit the road this year to bring real slices of American life to the screen as part of the CMT 1997 Countdown. The two hour extravaganza, hosted by country hipster Webb Wilder, premieres on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. CMT sent three crews to shoot for 12 days at 15 unique locations across the country. From the Spam Museum in Austin, MN to Carhenge in Alliance, NE, CMT captured all the fun for you.

In addition to the wacky tour of Americana, the special reveals CMT's Top 12 Videos for the Year and eight artist specialty awards. The awards are: Female Video Artist of the Year, Male Video Artist of the Year, Video Group / Duo of the Year, Male Rising Video Star, Female Rising Video Star, Rising Video Group of the Year, Video Director of the Year, and Video Event of the Year.
