Tony Brown Presents Reba McEntire Lifetime Achievement Award

Mending nicely from the near-fatal head injury he suffered in April, Tony Brown attended the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame ceremonies in Nashville Thursday night (June 26) to present that group’s Career Achievement Award to Reba McEntire. Now a senior partner of Universal South Records, Brown produced some of McEntire’s bestselling albums while he was an executive at MCA Records. Although he moved a bit slower than usual, Brown’s sense of humor seemed fully restored. “If I bobble tonight,” he told the crowd, “I’ve got an excuse: a hurt in my head.” Then, referring to the event’s wisecracking host, he added, “I don’t know what Charlie Monk’s problem is.” Brown injured himself in a fall at a Los Angeles restaurant and was in a coma for several days. 06/27/03
